drm/i915/gvt: fix vgpu debugfs clean in remove

Check carefully on root debugfs available when destroying vgpu,
e.g in remove case drm minor's debugfs root might already be destroyed,

drm/i915/gvt: fix gvt debugfs destroy

When gvt debug fs is destroyed, need to have a sane check if drm
minor's debugfs root is still available or not, otherwise in case like
device remove through unbinding, drm minor's debugfs directory has
already been removed, then intel_gvt_debugfs_clean() would act upon
dangling pointer like below oops.

drm/i915/display: Don't disable DDI/Transcoder when setting phy test pattern

Bspecs has updated recently to remove the restriction to disable
DDI/Transcoder before setting PHY test pattern. This update is to
address PHY compliance test failures observed on a port with LTTPR.
The issue is that when Transc. is disabled, the main link signals fed
to LTTPR will be dropped invalidating link training, which will affect
the quality of the phy test pattern when the transcoder is enabled again.

drm/i915: Never return 0 if not all requests retired
commit 12b8b046e4c9de40fa59b6f067d6826f4e688f68 upstream.
Users of intel_gt_retire_requests_timeout() expect 0 return value on
success. However, we have no protection from passing back 0 potentially
returned by a call to dma_fence_wait_timeout() when it succedes right
after its timeout has expired.
Replace 0 with -ETIME before potentially using the timeout value as return
code, so -ETIME is returned if there are still some requests not retired
after timeout, 0 otherwise.
v3: Use conditional expression, more compact but also better reflecting
intention standing behind the change.
v2: Move the added lines down so flush_submission() is not affected.

drm/i915/gt: Use i915_vm_put on ppgtt_create error paths

Now that the scratch page and page directories have a reference back to
the i915_address_space, we cannot do an immediate free of the ppgtt upon
error as those buffer objects will perform a later i915_vm_put in their
deferred frees.
The downside is that by replacing the onion unwind along the error
paths, the ppgtt cleanup must handle a partially constructed vm. This
includes ensuring that the vm->cleanup is set prior to the error path.

Fix gen6 ppgtt, so we may soon be able to remove a few checks. As the object only exists as a fake object pointing to ggtt, we have no backing storage, so no real object is created. It just has to look real enough. drm/i915/dmabuf: fix sg_table handling in map_dma_buf
commit f90daa975911961b65070ec72bd7dd8d448f9ef7 upstream.
We need to iterate over the original entries here for the sg_table,
pulling out the struct page for each one, to be remapped. However
currently this incorrectly iterates over the final dma mapped entries,
which is likely just one gigantic sg entry if the iommu is enabled,
leading to us only mapping the first struct page (and any physically
contiguous pages following it), even if there is potentially lots more
data to follow.

drm/i915/sdvo: Setup DDC fully before output init
commit e79762512120f11c51317570519a1553c70805d8 upstream.
Call intel_sdvo_select_ddc_bus() before initializing any
of the outputs. And before that is functional (assuming no VBT)
we have to set up the controlled_outputs thing. Otherwise DDC
won't be functional during the output init but LVDS really
needs it for the fixed mode setup.
Note that the whole multi output support still looks very
bogus, and more work will be needed to make it correct.
But for now this should at least fix the LVDS EDID fixed mode
setup.

watermarks. Othwerwise we'll calculate the watermarks thinking this
Y-tiled modifier is linear.

drm/i915/gem: Really move i915_gem_context.link under ref protection
commit d119888b09bd567e07c6b93a07f175df88857e02 upstream. i915_perf assumes that it can use the i915_gem_context reference to protect its i915->gem.contexts.list iteration. However, this requires that we do not remove the context from the list until after we drop the final reference and release the struct. drm/i915/gt: Restrict forced preemption to the active context
commit 6ef7d362123ecb5bf6d163bb9c7fd6ba2d8c968c upstream. When we submit a new pair of contexts to ELSP for execution, we start a timer by which point we expect the HW to have switched execution to the pending contexts. If the promotion to the new pair of contexts has not occurred, we declare the executing context to have hung and force the preemption to take place by resetting the engine and resubmitting the new contexts. This can lead to an unfair situation where almost all of the preemption timeout is consumed by the first context which just switches into the second context immediately prior to the timer firing and triggering the preemption reset (assuming that the timer interrupts before we process the CS events for the context switch). The second context hasn't yet had a chance to yield to the incoming ELSP (and send the ACk for the promotion) and so ends up being blamed for the reset. If we see that a context switch has occurred since setting the preemption timeout, but have not yet received the ACK for the ELSP promotion, rearm the preemption timer and check again. This is especially significant if the first context was not schedulable and so we used the shortest timer possible, greatly increasing the chance of accidentally blaming the second innocent context. drm/i915: Implement WaEdpLinkRateDataReload
commit 672d6ca758651f0ec12cd0d59787067a5bde1c96 upstream. A lot of modern laptops use the Parade PS8461E MUX for eDP switching. The MUX can operate in jitter cleaning mode or redriver mode, the first one resulting in higher link quality. The jitter cleaning mode needs to know the link rate used and the MUX achieves this by snooping the LINK_BW_SET, LINK_RATE_SELECT and SUPPORTED_LINK_RATES DPCD accesses. When the MUX is powered down (seems this can happen whenever the display is turned off) it loses track of the snooped link rates so when we do the LINK_RATE_SELECT write it no longer knowns which link rate we're selecting, and thus it falls back to the lower quality redriver mode. This results in unstable high link rates (eg. usually 8.1Gbps link rate no longer works correctly). In order to avoid all that let's re-snoop SUPPORTED_LINK_RATES from the sink at the start of every link training. Unfortunately we don't have a way to detect the presence of the MUX. It looks like the set of laptops equipped with this MUX is fairly large and contains devices from multiple manufacturers. It may also still be growing with new models. So a quirk doesn't seem like a very easily maintainable option, thus we shall attempt to do this unconditionally on all machines that use LINK_RATE_SELECT. Hopefully this extra DPCD read doesn't cause issues for any unaffected machine. If that turns out to be the case we'll need to convert this into a quirk in the future. drm/i915: Skip wm/ddb readout for disabled pipes
commit 0211c2a0ea600e25db3044daaeff4fe41c3ed6d9 upstream. The stuff programmed into the wm/ddb registers of planes on disabled pipes doesn't matter. So during readout just leave our software state tracking for those zeroed. This should avoid us trying too hard to clean up after whatever mess the VBIOS/GOP left in there. The actual hardware state will get cleaned up if/when we enable the pipe anyway. drm/i915: Require the vm mutex for i915_vma_bind()
[ Upstream commit c2ea703dcafccf18d7d77d8b68fb08c2d9842b7a ] Protect updates of struct i915_vma flags and async binding / unbinding with the vm::mutex. This means that i915_vma_bind() needs to assert vm::mutex held. In order to make that possible drop the caching of kmap_atomic() maps around i915_vma_bind(). An alternative would be to use kmap_local() but since we block cpu unplugging during sleeps inside kmap_local() sections this may have unwanted side-effects. Particularly since we might wait for gpu while holding the vm mutex. This change may theoretically increase execbuf cpu-usage on snb, but at least on non-highmem systems that increase should be very small. drm/i915/uc: correctly track uc_fw init failure
[ Upstream commit 35d4efec103e1afde968cfc9305f00f9aceb19cc ] The FAILURE state of uc_fw currently implies that the fw is loadable (i.e init completed), so we can't use it for init failures and instead need a dedicated error code. Note that this currently does not cause any issues because if we fail to init any of the firmwares we abort the load, but better be accurate anyway in case things change in the future. drm/i915/gt: Serialize TLB invalidates with GT resets

Currently, the TLB invalidate is only serialised by its own mutex, forgoing the uncore lock, but we can take the uncore->lock as well to serialise the mmio access, thereby serialising with the GDRST. Tested on a NUC5i7RYB, BIOS RYBDWi35.86A.0380.2019.0517.1530 with i915 selftest/hangcheck. If drm_connector_init fails, intel_connector_free will be called to take
care of proper free. So it is necessary to drop the refcount of port
before intel_connector_free.
