c3a7971736 fscrypt: Add SM4 XTS/CTS symmetric algorithm support
Add support for XTS and CTS mode variant of SM4 algorithm. The former is
used to encrypt file contents, while the latter (SM4-CTS-CBC) is used to
encrypt filenames.

SM4 is a symmetric algorithm widely used in China, and is even mandatory
algorithm in some special scenarios. We need to provide these users with
the ability to encrypt files or disks using SM4-XTS.

2566b8729c fscrypt: Add HCTR2 support for filename encryption
HCTR2 is a tweakable, length-preserving encryption mode that is intended
for use on CPUs with dedicated crypto instructions. HCTR2 has the
property that a bitflip in the plaintext changes the entire ciphertext.
This property fixes a known weakness with filename encryption: when two
filenames in the same directory share a prefix of >= 16 bytes, with
AES-CTS-CBC their encrypted filenames share a common substring, leaking
information. HCTR2 does not have this problem.

More information on HCTR2 can be found here: "Length-preserving
encryption with HCTR2": https://eprint.iacr.org/2021/1441.pdf

d0626afa1c f2fs: add block_age-based extent cache
This patch introduces a runtime hot/cold data separation method
for f2fs, in order to improve the accuracy for data temperature
classification, reduce the garbage collection overhead after
long-term data updates.

Enhanced hot/cold data separation can record data block update
frequency as "age" of the extent per inode, and take use of the age
info to indicate better temperature type for data block allocation:
 - It records total data blocks allocated since mount;
 - When file extent has been updated, it calculate the count of data
blocks allocated since last update as the age of the extent;
 - Before the data block allocated, it searches for the age info and
chooses the suitable segment for allocation.

Test and result:
 - Prepare: create about 30000 files
  * 3% for cold files (with cold file extension like .apk, from 3M to 10M)
  * 50% for warm files (with random file extension like .FcDxq, from 1K
to 4M)
  * 47% for hot files (with hot file extension like .db, from 1K to 256K)
 - create(5%)/random update(90%)/delete(5%) the files
  * total write amount is about 70G
  * fsync will be called for .db files, and buffered write will be used
for other files

The storage of test device is large enough(128G) so that it will not
switch to SSR mode during the test.

Benefit: dirty segment count increment reduce about 14%
 - before: Dirty +21110
 - after: Dirty +18286

4445b043d4 BACKPORT: mm: add NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE to count secondary page table uses.
We keep track of several kernel memory stats (total kernel memory, page
tables, stack, vmalloc, etc) on multiple levels (global, per-node,
per-memcg, etc). These stats give insights to users to how much memory
is used by the kernel and for what purposes.

Currently, memory used by KVM mmu is not accounted in any of those
kernel memory stats. This patch series accounts the memory pages
used by KVM for page tables in those stats in a new
NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE stat. This stat can be later extended to account
for other types of secondary pages tables (e.g. iommu page tables).

KVM has a decent number of large allocations that aren't for page
tables, but for most of them, the number/size of those allocations
scales linearly with either the number of vCPUs or the amount of memory
assigned to the VM. KVM's secondary page table allocations do not scale
linearly, especially when nested virtualization is in use.

From a KVM perspective, NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE will scale with KVM's
per-VM pages_{4k,2m,1g} stats unless the guest is doing something
bizarre (e.g. accessing only 4kb chunks of 2mb pages so that KVM is
forced to allocate a large number of page tables even though the guest
isn't accessing that much memory). However, someone would need to either
understand how KVM works to make that connection, or know (or be told) to
go look at KVM's stats if they're running VMs to better decipher the stats.

Furthermore, having NR_PAGETABLE side-by-side with NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE
is informative. For example, when backing a VM with THP vs. HugeTLB,
NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE is roughly the same, but NR_PAGETABLE is an order
of magnitude higher with THP. So having this stat will at the very least
prove to be useful for understanding tradeoffs between VM backing types,
and likely even steer folks towards potential optimizations.

The original discussion with more details about the rationale:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/87ilqoi77b.wl-maz@kernel.org

This stat will be used by subsequent patches to count KVM mmu
memory usage.

993727edd0 f2fs: add barrier mount option
This patch adds a mount option, barrier, in f2fs.
The barrier option is the opposite of nobarrier.
If this option is set, cache_flush commands are allowed to be issued.

72e7c6ddc7 f2fs: support fault injection for f2fs_is_valid_blkaddr()
This patch supports to inject fault into f2fs_is_valid_blkaddr() to
simulate accessing inconsistent data/meta block addressses from caller.

Usage:
a) echo 262144 > /sys/fs/f2fs/<dev>/inject_type or
b) mount -o fault_type=262144 <dev> <mountpoint>

0d94230343 fs: record I_DIRTY_TIME even if inode already has I_DIRTY_INODE
commit cbfecb927f429a6fa613d74b998496bd71e4438a upstream.

Currently the I_DIRTY_TIME will never get set if the inode already has
I_DIRTY_INODE with assumption that it supersedes I_DIRTY_TIME. That's
true, however ext4 will only update the on-disk inode in
->dirty_inode(), not on actual writeback. As a result if the inode
already has I_DIRTY_INODE state by the time we get to
__mark_inode_dirty() only with I_DIRTY_TIME, the time was already filled
into on-disk inode and will not get updated until the next I_DIRTY_INODE
update, which might never come if we crash or get a power failure.

The problem can be reproduced on ext4 by running xfstest generic/622
with -o iversion mount option.

Fix it by allowing I_DIRTY_TIME to be set even if the inode already has
I_DIRTY_INODE. Also make sure that the case is properly handled in
writeback_single_inode() as well. Additionally changes in
xfs_fs_dirty_inode() was made to accommodate for I_DIRTY_TIME in flag.

Thanks Jan Kara for suggestions on how to make this work properly.

29fe3aa438 UPSTREAM: fscrypt: Add HCTR2 support for filename encryption

60f60d1fd8 f2fs: introduce memory mode
Introduce memory mode to supports "normal" and "low" memory modes.
"low" mode is to support low memory devices. Because of the nature of
low memory devices, in this mode, f2fs will try to save memory sometimes
by sacrificing performance. "normal" mode is the default mode and same
as before.

301c56064d UPSTREAM: mm: add a field to store names for private anonymous memory
In many userspace applications, and especially in VM based applications
like Android uses heavily, there are multiple different allocators in
use. At a minimum there is libc malloc and the stack, and in many cases
there are libc malloc, the stack, direct syscalls to mmap anonymous
memory, and multiple VM heaps (one for small objects, one for big
objects, etc.). Each of these layers usually has its own tools to
inspect its usage; malloc by compiling a debug version, the VM through
heap inspection tools, and for direct syscalls there is usually no way
to track them.

On Android we heavily use a set of tools that use an extended version of
the logic covered in Documentation/vm/pagemap.txt to walk all pages
mapped in userspace and slice their usage by process, shared (COW) vs.
unique mappings, backing, etc. This can account for real physical
memory usage even in cases like fork without exec (which Android uses
heavily to share as many private COW pages as possible between
processes), Kernel SamePage Merging, and clean zero pages. It produces
a measurement of the pages that only exist in that process (USS, for
unique), and a measurement of the physical memory usage of that process
with the cost of shared pages being evenly split between processes that
share them (PSS).

If all anonymous memory is indistinguishable then figuring out the real
physical memory usage (PSS) of each heap requires either a pagemap
walking tool that can understand the heap debugging of every layer, or
for every layer's heap debugging tools to implement the pagemap walking
logic, in which case it is hard to get a consistent view of memory
across the whole system.

Tracking the information in userspace leads to all sorts of problems.
It either needs to be stored inside the process, which means every
process has to have an API to export its current heap information upon
request, or it has to be stored externally in a filesystem that somebody
needs to clean up on crashes. It needs to be readable while the process
is still running, so it has to have some sort of synchronization with
every layer of userspace. Efficiently tracking the ranges requires
reimplementing something like the kernel vma trees, and linking to it
from every layer of userspace. It requires more memory, more syscalls,
more runtime cost, and more complexity to separately track regions that
the kernel is already tracking.

This patch adds a field to /proc/pid/maps and /proc/pid/smaps to show a
userspace-provided name for anonymous vmas. The names of named
anonymous vmas are shown in /proc/pid/maps and /proc/pid/smaps as
[anon:<name>].

Userspace can set the name for a region of memory by calling

   prctl(PR_SET_VMA, PR_SET_VMA_ANON_NAME, start, len, (unsigned long)name)

Setting the name to NULL clears it. The name length limit is 80 bytes
including NUL-terminator and is checked to contain only printable ascii
characters (including space), except '[',']','\','$' and '`'.

Ascii strings are being used to have a descriptive identifiers for vmas,
which can be understood by the users reading /proc/pid/maps or
/proc/pid/smaps. Names can be standardized for a given system and they
can include some variable parts such as the name of the allocator or a
library, tid of the thread using it, etc.

The name is stored in a pointer in the shared union in vm_area_struct
that points to a null terminated string. Anonymous vmas with the same
name (equivalent strings) and are otherwise mergeable will be merged.
The name pointers are not shared between vmas even if they contain the
same name. The name pointer is stored in a union with fields that are
only used on file-backed mappings, so it does not increase memory usage.

CONFIG_ANON_VMA_NAME kernel configuration is introduced to enable this
feature. It keeps the feature disabled by default to prevent any
additional memory overhead and to avoid confusing procfs parsers on
systems which are not ready to support named anonymous vmas.

The patch is based on the original patch developed by Colin Cross, more
specifically on its latest version [1] posted upstream by Sumit Semwal.
It used a userspace pointer to store vma names. In that design, name
pointers could be shared between vmas. However during the last
upstreaming attempt, Kees Cook raised concerns [2] about this approach
and suggested to copy the name into kernel memory space, perform
validity checks [3] and store as a string referenced from
vm_area_struct.

One big concern is about fork() performance which would need to strdup
anonymous vma names. Dave Hansen suggested experimenting with
worst-case scenario of forking a process with 64k vmas having longest
possible names [4]. I ran this experiment on an ARM64 Android device
and recorded a worst-case regression of almost 40% when forking such a
process.

This regression is addressed in the followup patch which replaces the
pointer to a name with a refcounted structure that allows sharing the
name pointer between vmas of the same name. Instead of duplicating the
string during fork() or when splitting a vma it increments the refcount.

Changes for prctl(2) manual page (in the options section):

PR_SET_VMA
Sets an attribute specified in arg2 for virtual memory areas
starting from the address specified in arg3 and spanning the
size specified	in arg4. arg5 specifies the value of the attribute
to be set. Note that assigning an attribute to a virtual memory
area might prevent it from being merged with adjacent virtual
memory areas due to the difference in that attribute's value.

Currently, arg2 must be one of:

	PR_SET_VMA_ANON_NAME
Set a name for anonymous virtual memory areas. arg5 should
be a pointer to a null-terminated string containing the
name. The name length including null byte cannot exceed
80 bytes. If arg5 is NULL, the name of the appropriate
anonymous virtual memory areas will be reset. The name
can contain only printable ascii characters (including
                space), except '[',']','\','$' and '`'.

This feature is available only if the kernel is built with
                the CONFIG_ANON_VMA_NAME option enabled.

84a6506ce6 FROMLIST: overlayfs: override_creds=off option bypass creator_cred
By default, all access to the upper, lower and work directories is the
recorded mounter's MAC and DAC credentials. The incoming accesses are
checked against the caller's credentials.

If the principles of least privilege are applied, the mounter's
credentials might not overlap the credentials of the caller's when
accessing the overlayfs filesystem. For example, a file that a lower
DAC privileged caller can execute, is MAC denied to the generally
higher DAC privileged mounter, to prevent an attack vector.

We add the option to turn off override_creds in the mount options; all
subsequent operations after mount on the filesystem will be only the
caller's credentials. The module boolean parameter and mount option
override_creds is also added as a presence check for this "feature",
existence of /sys/module/overlay/parameters/override_creds.

It was not always this way. Circa 4.6 there was no recorded mounter's
credentials, instead privileged access to upper or work directories
were temporarily increased to perform the operations. The MAC
(selinux) policies were caller's in all cases. override_creds=off
partially returns us to this older access model minus the insecure
temporary credential increases. This is to permit use in a system
with non-overlapping security models for each executable including
the agent that mounts the overlayfs filesystem. In Android
this is the case since init, which performs the mount operations,
has a minimal MAC set of privileges to reduce any attack surface,
and services that use the content have a different set of MAC
privileges (eg: read, for vendor labelled configuration, execute for
vendor libraries and modules). The caveats are not a problem in
the Android usage model, however they should be fixed for
completeness and for general use in time.

9630d4d0d1 fscrypt: allow 256-bit master keys with AES-256-XTS
[ Upstream commit 7f595d6a6cdc336834552069a2e0a4f6d4756ddf ]

fscrypt currently requires a 512-bit master key when AES-256-XTS is
used, since AES-256-XTS keys are 512-bit and fscrypt requires that the
master key be at least as long any key that will be derived from it.

However, this is overly strict because AES-256-XTS doesn't actually have
a 512-bit security strength, but rather 256-bit. The fact that XTS
takes twice the expected key size is a quirk of the XTS mode. It is
sufficient to use 256 bits of entropy for AES-256-XTS, provided that it
is first properly expanded into a 512-bit key, which HKDF-SHA512 does.

Therefore, relax the check of the master key size to use the security
strength of the derived key rather than the size of the derived key
(except for v1 encryption policies, which don't use HKDF).

Besides making things more flexible for userspace, this is needed in
order for the use of a KDF which only takes a 256-bit key to be
introduced into the fscrypt key hierarchy. This will happen with
hardware-wrapped keys support, as all known hardware which supports that
feature uses an SP800-108 KDF using AES-256-CMAC, so the wrapped keys
are wrapped 256-bit AES keys. Moreover, there is interest in fscrypt
supporting the same type of AES-256-CMAC based KDF in software as an
alternative to HKDF-SHA512. There is no security problem with such
features, so fix the key length check to work properly with them.

0792ff2e87 FROMLIST: overlayfs: override_creds=off option bypass creator_cred

8c288004aa FROMLIST: Add flags option to get xattr method paired to __vfs_getxattr
Add a flag option to get xattr method that could have a bit flag of
XATTR_NOSECURITY passed to it. XATTR_NOSECURITY is generally then
set in the __vfs_getxattr path when called by security
infrastructure.

This handles the case of a union filesystem driver that is being
requested by the security layer to report back the xattr data.

For the use case where access is to be blocked by the security layer.

The path then could be security(dentry) ->
__vfs_getxattr(dentry...XATTR_NOSECURITY) ->
handler->get(dentry...XATTR_NOSECURITY) ->
__vfs_getxattr(lower_dentry...XATTR_NOSECURITY) ->
lower_handler->get(lower_dentry...XATTR_NOSECURITY)
which would report back through the chain data and success as
expected, the logging security layer at the top would have the
data to determine the access permissions and report back the target
context that was blocked.

Without the get handler flag, the path on a union filesystem would be
the errant security(dentry) -> __vfs_getxattr(dentry) ->
handler->get(dentry) -> vfs_getxattr(lower_dentry) -> nested ->
security(lower_dentry, log off) -> lower_handler->get(lower_dentry)
which would report back through the chain no data, and -EACCES.

For selinux for both cases, this would translate to a correctly
determined blocked access. In the first case with this change a correct avc
log would be reported, in the second legacy case an incorrect avc log
would be reported against an uninitialized u:object_r:unlabeled:s0
context making the logs cosmetically useless for audit2allow.

This patch series is inert and is the wide-spread addition of the
flags option for xattr functions, and a replacement of __vfs_getxattr
with __vfs_getxattr(...XATTR_NOSECURITY).

8231d1fc9b erofs: add multiple device support
In order to support multi-layer container images, add multiple
device feature to EROFS. Two ways are available to use for now:

 - Devices can be mapped into 32-bit global block address space;
 - Device ID can be specified with the chunk indexes format.

Note that it assumes no extent would cross device boundary and mkfs
should take care of it seriously.

In the future, a dedicated device manager could be introduced then
thus extra devices can be automatically scanned by UUID as well.

3bc65bf077 fscrypt: improve documentation for inline encryption
Currently the fscrypt inline encryption support is documented in the
"Implementation details" section, and it doesn't go into much detail.
It's really more than just an "implementation detail" though, as there
is a user-facing mount option. Also, hardware-wrapped key support (an
upcoming feature) will depend on inline encryption and will affect the
on-disk format; by definition that's not just an implementation detail.

Therefore, move this documentation into its own section and expand it.

5f8b2e61df f2fs: introduce fragment allocation mode mount option
Added two options into "mode=" mount option to make it possible for
developers to simulate filesystem fragmentation/after-GC situation
itself. The developers use these modes to understand filesystem
fragmentation/after-GC condition well, and eventually get some
insights to handle them better.

"fragment:segment": f2fs allocates a new segment in ramdom position.
With this, we can simulate the after-GC condition.
"fragment:block" : We can scatter block allocation with
		"max_fragment_chunk" and "max_fragment_hole" sysfs
		nodes. f2fs will allocate 1..<max_fragment_chunk>
blocks in a chunk and make a hole in the length of
1..<max_fragment_hole> by turns	in a newly allocated
free segment. Plus, this mode implicitly enables
		"fragment:segment" option for more randomness.
